Industry Notes:

Colorado Closure Raises Access Concerns

Another health system is shuttering its home health and hospice business line, this time in Colorado.

Estes Park Health is transferring its home health and hospice licenses to an unnamed “existing Colorado-based operation,” reports the Estes Park Trail Gazette. “We are not in a position to talk about this further at this time,” CEO Vern Carda tells the newspaper.

Meanwhile, patients trying to access home health and hospice care are facing dead ends following the agency’s closure on Dec. 31, as agencies licensed to serve the market don’t actually cover the entire area, the Trail Gazette says. The hospital closed the agency for financial reasons, according to the newspaper.
