Telehealth expansion is on Medicare’s to-do list, but it may not touch home care providers directly. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services “is proposing changes to expand telehealth permanently, consistent with the Executive Order on Improving Rural and Telehealth Access that President Trump signed” Aug. 3, CMS says in a release.
Annual payment rules for physicians, facilities, and other provider types for 2021 include permanent telehealth expansion. The rules for home health agencies and hospices don’t contain such changes.
