Providers in Oregon are receiving regulatory relief due to the wildfires. On Sept. 16, HHS Secretary Alex Azar declared a public health emergency (PHE) in Oregon, retroactive to Sept. 8.
Regulatory waivers already in place under the coronavirus “will continue be available to health care providers to use for the duration of the COVID-19 PHE and for the wildfires PHEs,” the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services explains in a release. More information is at www.cms.gov/emergency.
