Industry Notes:

Catch Up On Your Cahaba-To-CIGNA Duties

The transition from Cahaba GBA to HHH MAC CIGNA is ramping up. HHAs and hospices should already have submitted their EFT agreement, completed CMS-588 form and voided check or bank letter of verification. Plus: "Based on your provider type, it may be necessary for an EFT Reenrollment Form to be completed," CIGNA warns. "If you are a 'freestanding' HH+H provider, you need to submit your CMS- 588 reenrollment form to CGS to complete the reenrollment process," CIGNA says. Freestanding providers are those whose audit intermediary is the same as their claims intermediary. You don't need to reenroll with CIGNA if you're a provider-based agency. Provider-based agencies are those that receive payments from Cahaba but audits from another contractor associated with your parent organization. Also: You can check out CIGNA's local coverage determinations (LCDs) that will start applying to you June 13 at www.cignagovernmentservices.com/j15/LCDs.html.
