Did you miss the OIG's recent compliance training sessions in person? Don't worry, you can make up for it online. This spring, the OIG held a series of training sessions in six cities across the nation. After an overwhelming volume of requests to attend, the OIG offered to make the May 18 session in Washington, D.C. available via webcast. In the session, "Inspector General Daniel Levinson and other government experts [will] educate local health care providers and compliance officers about the realities of Medicare fraud and the importance of implementing an effective compliance program," the OIG says in an e-mail notice. Providers can sign up to watch the free live webcast of the session, which takes place from 8:30 a.m. -- 1 p.m., at
www.oig.hhs.gov/heat. Or they can view a video of the training which will be available online by May 31.
