Home care providers can breathe a sigh of relief as Congress has approved a 2015 budget without implementing any additional reimbursement cuts for HHAs or hospices.
The bill (H.R. 83) leaves CMS’s funding frozen at 2014 levels, notes law firm Hall Render. The bill also rescinds $10 million in funding for the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB).
The legislation “will keep the government funded for nine more months, averting another shutdown until the end of FY2015,” notes the National Association for Home Care & Hospice. “The bill was essentially a continuation of the $1.1 trillion budget deal that was brokered back in January between House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Senate Budget Committee Chairwoman Patty Murray (D-Wash.).”
