Even if you manage to avoid alternative sanctions at survey time, you could still get stung by state fines.
Hamlett Health Services in Waterbury has agreed to a $5,000 fine and to hire an independent nurse consultant to monitor care quality and regulatory compliance for at least three months. In survey visits made last November and December, Connecticut surveyors found numerous violations including those related to medication administration and communication with the physician, the Department of Health notes in a consent order online at www.ct.gov/dph/lib/dph/facility_licensing_and_investigations/regulatoryactiondocuments/hamlett_health_services_co_6_17_2015.pdf. Hamlett changed ownership after the agency received a violation letter in January, according to press reports.
