While many things have changed, one thing remains the same — an update to Home Health Grouper software is still coming Oct. 1.

The ICD-10-CM diagnosis code set is updated annually, effective Oct. 1, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services reminds providers in a June 12 MLN Matters article. Each year, “the Grouper Contractor … develops a new HH Grouper software package to reflect these updates,” CMS explains.

Interested home health agencies can sign up now to beta test the new PDGM Grouper update from June 29 through July 17, CMS says on its grouper webpage at www.cms.gov/Medicare/Medicare-Fee-for-Service-Payment/HomeHealthPPS/CaseMixGrouperSoftware.
