Don’t let insufficient information delay your cash flow. “When National Government Services receives a revalidation application, we often determine that we need additional information to process the application,” the Medicare Admini-strative Contractor says in an email to providers. “We then send a request for additional information which is commonly referred to as development.”
Warning: “This process can significantly delay the processing of your revalidation application,” NGS says.
You can take advantage of NGS’s new page, “Prevent Revalidation Processing Delays,” to head off any problems, the MAC suggests. It’s available via the Enrollment tab, or email the editor at rebeccaj @eliresearch.com with “NGS Revalidation” in the subject line for a free link.
For example: Providers often submit inaccurate EFT information, or no EFT information at all, NGS says.
Tip: “Ensure the legal name on the EFT agreement matches exactly … the name on file with the IRS or SSA and on the voided check,” NGS says. “Upload a copy of the voided check. If the legal business name on the voided check is not an exact match to what is reported to the IRS or SSA, it is recommended that you obtain and include a bank letter specifying your name to match"
