Aug.16 Deadline Looms For These RCD States
Home health agencies in Florida and North Carolina take note: Your selection period for Review Choice Demonstration Cycle 4 has begun and runs through Aug. 16, RCD Medicare Administrative Contractor Palmetto GBA says in a message to providers. If an HHA’s full affirmation rate is below 90 percent, it can choose from three review options: (Choice 1) Start or continue participating in PCR for another cycle; (Choice 2) 100 percent postpayment review; or (Choice 3) Minimal postpayment review with 25 percent payment reduction. HHAs in this category who don’t select a choice will automatically be placed in Choice 2, Palmetto notes. If an HHA’s full affirmation rate or claim approval rate is 90 percent or greater for the previous six-month period, it may choose from two additional options: (Choice 4) Selective postpayment review of a statistically valid random sample (SVRS) of claims every six months for the remainder of the demonstration or (Choice 5) Spot Check Review of 5 percent of claims every six months to ensure continued compliance. HHAs in this category who don’t select a choice will automatically be placed in Choice 4, Palmetto says.
