Arkansas Agency Faces Misclassification Lawsuit

An Arkansas-based home care provider is facing a lawsuit over how it classifies its employees. The Arkansas Home-Based Services Association Inc. accuses Pinnacle In Home Care LLC and Victoria and Lawrence Williams of racketeering, according to press reports. The Lowell-based company misclassifies its workforce as independent contractors to avoid paying overtime, it says. Pinnacle has asked the federal court to dismiss the case, 5 News reports.
