Appeals Won't Help Your RCD Stats

Dec. 1 starts a new Review Choice Demonstration cycle for home health agencies in Illinois and Texas. The options they chose in the choice selection window from Nov. 1 to Nov. 15 will apply to claims starting then, says RCD contractor Palmetto GBA in a recent web site post. Detail: “There are no recalculations to incorporate Appeals decisions for the RCD end of cycle results,” Palmetto reminds in a separate post. Those results determine whether agencies get to advance to selective post-pay or spot check pre-pay review, which both have a lighter review load.
