A major sale in the personal care services market is in the works. Addus HomeCare Corp. has agreed to acquire the personal care operations of Gentiva for an anticipated purchase price of $350 million, the Frisco, Tex.-based chain says in a release. “The transaction relates only to [Gentiva’s] personal care operations, which serve over 16,000 patients per day in a seven-state service area of Arizona, Arkansas, California, Missouri, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas,” Addus says of the Atlanta-based chain. Texas and Missouri are new markets for Addus, CEO Dirk Allison says in the release. “Gentiva is the largest provider of personal care services in the state of Texas, where we currently have no personal care operations,” he adds.
