Industry Note:

You'll See Vaccine Roster Billing Fix In July

A solution for vaccine roster billing will take effect in July. Now: "Reason code 31596 currently displays inappropriately when billing Q codes for the influenza virus vaccine and the administration on flu roster bills entered via direct data entry (DDE), using the Fiscal Intermediary Standard System (FISS) 'Roster Bill Entry' Option 87 from the Claims Entry Menu," regional home health intermediary Cahaba GBA says on its website. "Reason code 31596 indicates that the roster bill includes an incorrect HCPC combination." Soon: On July 5 a fix will go in to correct the problem, Cahaba says. "Until the issue is resolved, providers may submit the influenza virus vaccine and the administration, individually via the 'Home Health' Option 26 from the Claims Entry Menu," Cahaba instructs. More detailed billing instructions are at  www.cahabagba.com/rhhi/claims/home_health/flu_individual.htm.
