You’re getting another ‘fiscal cliff’ reprieve, now that the House passed a bill suspending the federal debt ceiling until mid-May. The bill essentially gives Congress more time to hold long-term budget negotiations, but lawmakers must make a decision by April 15 or risk their own salaries, according to the National Association for Home Care & Hospice.
Health care budget issues will no doubt be at the center of Congressional talks as lawmakers decide where and how much to slash federal agency budgets, NAHC says. This second reprieve comes on the heels of Congress’s last-minute decision at the turn of the year to push back sequestration decisions for two months.
