Medicare is clearing up some naming confusion across its Identity & Access (I&A) Management System, Provider Enrollment, Chain, and Ownership System (PECOS), and National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES). “Starting June 8, the role Delegated Official is renamed Access Manager” in the I&A system, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services says. There are no other changes regarding the roles. “This change will avoid confusion between the Delegated Official in PECOS and the Delegated Official in the I&A System supporting PECOS, NPPES, and EHR,” CMS explains.“This change has no impact on Delegated Officials listed in PECOS or their titles.”
