As promised in this month’s Open Door Forum, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has issued letters to hospices found noncompliant with Hospice Quality Reporting Program data submission requirements in 2018, affecting their 2020 hospice rates. Hard copy letters from HHH Medicare Administrative Contractors may still be in the mail, but the letter is also in affected providers’ CASPER folders on QIES as of July 16, CMS says in an email to providers. Deadline: “Hospices that receive a letter of non-compliance may submit a request for reconsideration to CMS via email no later than 11:59 pm PST, August 15, 2019,” CMS stresses in the email.
