Industry Note:

Value-Based Purchasing Participation Lags

More than 400 HHAs under Value-Based Purchasing are risking their reimbursement by not completing registration required to access the HHVBP Secure Portal, the Centers for Medi-care & Medicaid Services has told the National Association for Home Care & Hospice.

As of Sept. 18, 438 agencies across the nine VBP states had yet to complete the final steps for Portal access, NAHC reports. “Without access to the HHVBP Secure Portal, agencies are not able to view the first Interim Performance Reports (IPRs) that were posted on the HHVBP Secure Portal on July 27th, 2016, and will be unable to submit data for the three New Measures each quarter starting October 1, 2016,” NAHC warns in its member newsletter.

Deadline: Agencies have only days to remedy the problem, since they must report the required data by Oct. 16, NAHC stresses. Agencies that don’t report the data, which was collected from July to September, will have lower total point scores (TPSs) under VBP.
