Vaccination Back Pay Coming To You Soon, MAC Says

Waiting on back payments for underpaid vaccinations from September? You should see those payments soon, HHH MAC NHIC says in an e-mail message to providers. Problem: For dates of service in September 2011, influenza vaccinations were being priced using the 2010-2011 influenza season rates, instead of pricing with the 2011-2012 rates, NHIC explains. Solution: NHIC and CMS rectified the problem and claims processing now for September 2011 dates are paid correctly. But if you submitted claims before the fix went in, "these claims are currently being repro-cessed to correct the fee schedule payment," NHIC says. "If impacted, your office will receive any additional payment owed in the near future." You can look on your remittance advices for claims adjustment details, the MAC adds.
