Industry Note:

Use Your Current ABN Form Even Though It Expired Last Month

Even though your Medicare-issued advance beneficiary notice (ABN) form has an expiration date of Oct. 31, you should go on using it. So says CMS on its HHABN website. "Home health agencies should continue using the HHABN with the date 10/31/12 in the lower left corner," CMS says at www.cms.gov/Medicare/Medicare-General-Information/BNI/HHABN.html. "There is not an updated notice available at this time; please check this web page periodically for updates."
