TPE Resumption Date Remains Cloudy

If you’re wondering when Targeted Probe & Educate medical review will resume, you’re not the only one. “At this time, we are unable to provide additional clarity on when or how TPE reviews will resume,” HHH Medicare Administrative Contractor National Government Services says in a message to providers.“But we will share information as it’s made available.” Retroactive: “Effective 3/1/2020, claims that auto-denied for nonresponse or late response to the ADR will be reversed and allowed for payment unless an appeal has already been filed. In that case, the appeal will follow the normal appeals process,” NGS explains.
