System Glitch Hangs Up All Claims For Some Agencies

Watch our for 32103 claims suspensions.

Cash flow has come to a halt for some providers, thanks to a National Provider Identifier claims system error, HHH Medicare Administrative Contractors report.

“Certain providers are receiving reason code 32103 for all their claims, having DDE access issues and claim DCNs getting assigned the suffix of XXX,” MAC Palmetto GBA says in a message to providers. “This is due to a Medicare crosswalk issue.”

On the erroneously returned claims, “the NPI/Oscar number pair is not present in the Medicare NPI crosswalk file,” MAC National Government Services adds. “This edit applies to the NPI number associated with the Oscar number.” Other reason codes are involved in the problem as well, MAC CGS says.

“Other MACs are experiencing the same issue,” Palmetto adds.

Palmetto has chosen to suspend the claims rather than have them return in error, it says. “NGS is currently reviewing the situation and will have a solution soon,” the MAC pledges.
