Industry Note:

Stick To ADR Deadlines

If you dawdle on responding to ADRs, you're putting your own cash flow at risk. So warns HHH MAC CGS on its website. For example, CGS has been sending out additional development requests for a number of hospice widespread edits. Hospices have 30 days to send in their supporting documentation. "If documentation is not mailed within the 30-day request, it may begin to auto-deny unnecessarily," the MAC warns.Tips: "Check for ADRs at least once a week," CGS recommends. And providers should submit their documentation as soon as possible. "The 30-day window should be the maximum timeframe to mail documentation," the MAC stresses.Remember: "Documentation is reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis," CGS reminds providers. "So the sooner the documentation is received, the sooner it will be reviewed, and the claim can be released to continue processing."
