Solve Overlap Problems With New Billing Guides
Help avoid denials for claims that overlap with other providers’ claims by using some new tools on the topic from HHH Medicare Admini-strative Contractor NHIC.
For example: "A hospice patient may re-ceive home health service for a condition that is unrelated to the reason the patient elected the hospice benefit," NHIC explains on its website. "When a patient receives home health services unrelated [to] the terminal condition, the home health agency (HHA) should submit their final episode claim with condition code 07," the MAC says in a new billing guide at www.medicarenhic.com/providers/pubs/ C7010BillingGuide.pdf.
