Senior Living/Hospital Co. Gets Into Home Health

Cornerstone Healthcare Group Holding Inc., owned by Highland Capital Management, has purchased Southland Home Health based in Phoenix, the Dallas-based company says in a release. Southland provides skilled home care, hospice services, and palliative care in Maricopa County. “Cornerstone expects the Southland partnership to be the first of a series of acquisitions in the home health space,” according to the release. The company, which operates in seven states, “is actively seeking opportunities to acquire home healthcare businesses that provide a geographic overlay to its specialty hospitals, senior living facilities, and behavioral health operations.”
