Senators Speak Out Against Prior Authorization

The comment period on CMS’s home health prior authorization demonstration may be over, but the agency is still getting some important feedback. Six U.S. Senators signed onto an April 18 letter urging the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to reconsider the proposal, notes the National Association for Home Care & Hospice.
The demo “could delay the delivery of care” and force patients “to seek care in more costly settings or return to hospitals,” the letter warns.
