If you’re wondering how you compare to your peers, Medicare is offering an updated data resource for you to use. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has released the fourth annual Medicare Home Health Agency Utilization and Payment Public Use File covering 2016 data, the agency says in a notice to providers. The file “includes utilization, payment (Medicare payment and Medicare standardized payment), submitted charges, and demographic and chronic condition indicators organized by CMS Certification Number, Home Health Resource Group and state of service,” CMS explains. The data set includes information on 10,139 home health agencies, almost 6 million claims, and $18 billion in Medicare payments for 2016.
