What three regional health systems joined together, they are now putting asunder. Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health, Tower Health, and UPMC Pinnacle, which own Affilia Home Health based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, have announced plans “to amicably dissolve the not-for-profit agency on January 1, 2019,” according to a joint release. Each system will retain its area employees and run its own home care unit. LG’s home care business will retain the Affilia name, the systems say. LG and Tower Health’s precursor, Reading Hospital & Medical Center, merged their home health services in 2003. UPMC joined in 2012.
