Regional Chain Buys Florida Home Health Agency

Regional chain CareSouth Health System Inc. is purchasing its third home health agency in Florida. Augusta, Ga.-based CareSouth plans to close its acquisition of Ocala-based Florida Palliative Home Care of Lake, Marion and Sumter Counties by September, the company says in a release. FP Home Care will immediately start doing business as CareSouth Homecare Professionals, says the chain with 15 certified HHAs and 38 locations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. CareSouth HHAs employ more than 900 people, the company says in the release. The buy "is a component of the company's strategic plan of growth through acquisition and development," CareSouth says.
