RCD Resumption Date Still In Question
According to a May 27 update, North Carolina providers have so far opted to go entirely with pre-claim review when the Review Choice Demonstration begins. A full 100 percent of NC HHAs submitting selections chose PCR, RCD Contractor Palmetto GBA says on its website. While Florida agencies also have overwhelmingly chosen PCR, 3 percent of Sunshine State providers submitting a selection did choose post-payment review, the May 27 website update indicates. When those choices will actually take effect is still up in the air.RCD implementation for the two states was indefinitely delayed when the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services paused the demonstration for COVID-19 on March 29 (see Eli’s HCW, Vol. XXIX, No. 12-13).
