Publicly Traded Home Care Company To Buy Controlling Interest In 89-Location Health System-Based Chain

Almost Family Inc. is buying the controlling interesting in an 89-location health systembased home health and hospice chain.
The Louisville, Ky.-based company will buy Community Health Systems Home Health for $128 million, Almost Family says in a release. One of the deal’s aims is to “better manage the needs of patients across the CHS hospital network,” the chain says in the release.
CHS Home Health operates 74 home health and 15 hospice branch locations in 22 states, Almost Family says. “With the completion of this transaction, Almost Family will operate 340 branches across 26 states and its annual net revenue run rate is expected to exceed the $800 million mark,” according to the statement.
