The number of the nation’s hospice inpatient facilities continues to grow.
In Bonita, Calif., Sharp HospiceCare has purchased property with plans to build its third hospice house, reports the Lemon Grove Patch. The hospital-based provider plans to start construction on the six-bedroom facility in August. Sharp’s other facilities are in Del Cerro and La Mesa.
In Hattiesburg, Miss., Forrest General Hospital is fundraising to build the city’s first hospice house, reports WHLT News. The hospital’s hospice served 550 patients over the past year, the hospital says. The house will have 12 beds.
