Provider Uses Baseline Wage Increase As Recruitment, Retention Tool

Looking for a way to recruit and retain aides? You may want to take a cue from one Virginia hospice.

Hospice of the Piedmont in Charlottesville has increased its “baseline wage” to $15 per hour, reports The Daily Progress newspaper. That increased the wages of more than 40 employees.

“To be able to pay a living wage will improve our ability to recruit and retain more staff members and give better service to patients,” CEO Ron Cottrell told the Daily Progress. The hospice’s previous baseline pay amount was $13.
