Industry Note:

Private Duty Chain Addus Makes Major Acquisition

Private duty chain Addus HomeCare Corp. has purchased the assets of Arcadia Home Care & Staffing, headquartered in Southfield, Michigan, for $18.5 million, the Frisco, Texas-based company says in a release.

Arcadia had revenues for 2017 of $47.4 million and provides home care services to about 2,300 consumers through 26 offices in 10 states, Addus says. The transaction expands Addus into two new states - Florida and Wisconsin.

Addus provides home care services to more than 36,000 consumers through 142 offices across 26 states, it notes. While it currently furnishes mainly personal care services, it will expand into hospice and skilled home health services with its pending acquisition of AmberCare (see Eli's HCW, Vol. XXVII, No. 10).
