Pre-Claim Review Urgently Needs Your Attention, Before It's Too Late
Don’t get so distracted by the payment reform proposal and other 2019 HH PPS proposed rule provisions that you forget to comment on another urgent matter — the relaunching of the pre-claim review demonstration project. “Previous efforts regarding home health pre-claim review were a financial disaster for agencies,” says consulting firm The Health Group in Morgantown, West Virginia. HHAs both within the five “Review Choice Demonstration” states of Illinois, Ohio, North Carolina, Florida, and Texas and outside of them should comment by the July 31 deadline, The Health Group urges. “The proposal also provides Palmetto GBA the opportunity to expand the pre-claim review to other states,” the firm warns in its electronic newsletter.
