Pay Attention To This RCD Requirement
Illinois home health agencies shouldn’t forget to include the Unique Tracking Number (UTN) on final claims under the Review Choice Demonstration, as long as they chose Pre Claim Review (PCR) as their review choice. Reminder: More than half of Illinois agencies chose the PCR option, even when they could have selected more advanced options with lower medical review volume (see Eli’s HCW, Vol. XXVIII, No. 20). “Final claims submitted by providers who selected PCR that do not include a UTN will Return to Provider (RTP) and will need to be corrected before the claim can process,” RCD contractor Palmetto GBA reminds agencies. HHAs in the remaining RCD demonstration states, including Ohio which is scheduled for Sept. 30 implementation, should take note.
