Part B Deductibles, Premiums Decrease In 2012

Your patients are getting good news about their Medicare bills. Part A premiums will increase by only $1 to $451 and the Part A deductible for hospital stays will increase $24 to $1,156, CMS says in a release. Co-insurance for days 21-100 of nursing home stays will increase $3 to $144.50. And the Part B monthly premium will be $99.50, a $15.50 decrease from this year. (The figure is a $3.50 increase over what most benes were charged in a hold harmless provision, though, CMS acknowledges.) The Part B deductible will be $140, a decrease of $22 from 2011.
