OIG Beats Hospice Survey Drum Again

The HHS Office of Inspector General’s Semiannual Report to Congress is another chance for the watchdog agency to paint the hospice industry with a broad fraud and abuse brush. The 107-page report retreads two reports on hospice surveys that drew widespread media attention this summer, and applauds the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ implementation of hospital DRG proration for “early” discharges to hospice.
