Published on Thu Nov 29, 2012
A home care nurse defendant has drawn a two-and-a-half-year prison term in the $13.8 million fraud case involving Physicians Choice Home Health Care in Detroit. RN Anthony Parkman also must undergo three years' supervised release and pay more than $450,000 in restitution. Parkman pled guilty this summer to signing medical documentation for patients he never actually saw or treated, in exchange for $150 per file, the Department of Justice says in a release. Parkman went on to do the same for First Care Home Health Care, Quantum Home Care Inc., and Moonlite Home Care Inc. Nine of Parkman's co-defendants have pled guilty and await sentencing, the DOJ says. Three co-defendants are fugitives, and six co-defendants await trial.
