Industry consolidation continues as reimbursement pressures squeeze home care and hospice providers.
In Denver: the Colorado Visiting Nurse Association and the Rehabilitation & Visiting Nurse Association plan to combine their nonprofit organizations, the VNAs say in a release. “The rapidly changing healthcare environment and emergence of large-scale health systems and insurance companies is driving a need for equally large and better clinically-integrated home health agencies,” they say.
The merger “will provide economies of scale in home health not previously seen in Colorado,” says Colorado VNA CEO Chris Lee in the release.
“This merger will help take our organization to the next level in terms of being able to attract and retain more staff with better pay and benefits as well as operate more efficiently and better serve our clients with technology improvements,” adds RVNA CEO Lori Follett.
In Maine: HomeHealth Visiting Nurses, Kno-Wal-Lin Home Care and Hospice and Wal- do County Home Care and Hospice will merge to become MaineHealth Care at Home, according to a release from the MaineHealth health system.
