Nation's Largest Home Care Chain Grows Larger

The nation’s largest home care chain has gotten even larger. Gentiva Health Services Inc., which claims it’s the country’s largest provider "based on revenue," has completed its purchase of Harden Healthcare Holdings Inc. for $409 million — $355 million in cash and the rest in Gentiva stock. The combined company will serve about 110,000 patients each day, Atlanta-based Gentiva says in a release.
Harden stockholders retained the company’s long-term care business, the chain adds.
