Multi-State Chain Grows On West Coast

The Ensign Group has expanded its presence in Southern California. The Mission Viejo, Calif.-based post-acute parent has acquired Guard-ian Angel Hospice and two Shea Family Care home care businesses in San Diego, the company says in a release. The acquisitions run by Ensign’s Cornerstone Healthcare unit will operate under the names Seaport Home Health, Seaport Hospice, and Safe Harbor Home Care, Ensign notes.
The purchase, made with cash for an undisclosed amount, brings Ensign’s growing portfolio to 12 home health agencies, 10 hospice agencies and two home care businesses across nine states.
