Home health agency payment rates may be flat, but salary levels for their social workers are on the rise. So says the 22nd annual HOMECARE Salary & Benefits Report published by Hospital & Healthcare Compensation Service (HCS). The national average hourly rate of Medical Social Workers (MSWs) increased 1.83 percent from 2011 to 2012, the report says. And agencies said they planned to increase MSW pay by another 2.4 percent in 2013. Turnover rates for MSWs declined from 22.17 percent in 2011 to 21.17 percent in 2012, according to the survey that included data from nearly 1,800 HHAs and hospices on 92,000 employees.
