MAC Targets These Topics In Latest Medical Review

If you feel like hospice medical review is stepping up in intensity, you may be right. HHH Medicare Administrative Contractor Palmetto GBA listed six hospice topics and two home health topics in its latest “Active Medical Review” topic review. Palmetto’s hospice topics include Beneficiary Sharing, Routine Home Care, Aggregate Length of Stay, General Inpatient Care — Inpatient Hospice Care Outliers based on Mean Days for Jurisdiction, Non-cancer Length of Stay — Diseases of the Nervous System, and Continuous Home Care. The MAC’s home health topics are Beneficiary Sharing and Home Health Services for Eligibility and Medical Necessity.
