MAC Offers New F2F Education
Make sure the physician meets the requirements for incorporating your documentation.
Face-to-face physician encounter documentation requirements bedevil home health agencies — particularly those under Pre-Claim Review. Now one MAC is trying to lend a helping hand.
HHH Medicare Administrative Contractor CGS has posted a new 30-minute training course on F2F requirements on its website. The “Home Health Face-to-Face Encounter” online course provides information about who performs the encounter, F2F requirements, supporting F2F documentation, and resources, CGS says on its website.
Tip: You can bolster the certifying physician’s F2F documentation by having her sign your supporting documentation into the patient’s record, the course confirms. But the information in your documentation “must be corroborated” by other info in the doc’s record, and the physician must review and sign off on your documentation.
