You shouldn’t have to wait long for a resolution if your claims are hung up by Reason Code 31716.

The problem: “The quarterly competitive bid files associated with Change Request (CR) 10802 were not implemented on October 1, 2018,” explains HHH Medicare Administrative Contractor Palmetto GBA on its website. “Home Health and Hospice claims that edit for Reason Code 31716 will be suspended in location S MOSUG.”

Solution: The files’ implementation will now occur on Oct. 22, Palmetto says. “The Medicare Administrative Contractors will add Condition Code 15 prior to releasing them for adjudication, once the October quarterly files are implemented on October 22.”
