Know Which Supplies To Include On HH Claims

Confused over how to bill your supplies under home health PPS? HHH Medicare Admini-strative Contractor NHIC is offering some tips. "The cost of routine supplies is included in the calculation of the episode payment," NHIC explains in a question-and-answer set from a June 21 teleconference, "Home Health Billing: Requests for Antici-pated Payment and Episode Claims." "It's only the (non-routine supplies) that need to be reported on the claim."Not sure which supplies are routine versus non-routine? CMS includes a list of non-routine supplies in the Home Health Consolidated Billing Master Code List at www.cms.gov/Medicare/Medicare-Fee-for-Service-Payment/HomeHealthPPS/coding_billing.html -- scroll down to the "Downloads" section.
