Kentucky To Run Fingerprint Criminal Background Checks Thanks To ACA Program

Home care job applicants in Kentucky will start undergoing more stringent criminal background checks, thanks to the National Background Check Program enacted in the Affordable Care Act health care reform law. Kentucky will receive a $3 million grant from the government to purchase electronic equipment to scan applicants' fingerprints for state and FBI criminal background checks. The new process will replace the state's current system of using an individual's name.
