You may want to check CMS’s revalidation schedule to see if your date is coming up soon. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services refreshed its list July 1, it says on its revalidation website. Dates now go through Jan. 31, 2018. Previously, the list covered dates through November 2017, notes The Health Group in Morgantown, West Virginia, in its electronic newsletter. The Health Group encourages providers “to revalidate as early as possible to ensure problems are resolved and, accordingly, to avoid a hold on Medicare payments and a possible deactivation or lapse in your Medicare billing privileges.” Don’t overlook: “Even if you are not scheduled for revalidation, Medicare enrollment information must be updated for any reportable events,” The Health Group reminds providers. “A reportable event is any change that affects information in the Medicare enrollment record.” See the newly updated revalidation schedule at https://data.cms.gov/revalidation. You can expect the next update around Sept. 1, CMS says.
