Just 2 Out Of 5 Dinged Claims Send You To Repeat Face-To-Face Medical Review
Don’t jump the gun in requesting one-onone education based on your face-to-face-focused Probe & Educate claims review, one MAC says.
Reminder: HHH Medicare Administrative Contractors are conducting review of five claims from every HHA nationwide under the Probe & Educate initiative (see Eli’s HCW, Vol. XXIV, No. 40).
HHAs that have two or more of the five claims with “errors” will receive detailed educational letters, and are eligible for one-on-one education from their MAC. They will also repeat the F2F review cycle.
Hold off: “HHAs should not request oneon-one education until the review of the five claims is completed and they have received their final results letter,” Palmetto instructs on its website.
“The results letter will include directions on how to request education.”
